Ten Foot Pole, an American Punk band formed in the early 1980’s, is still going strong after all these years. Come June 5, they begin the “Love is the Law” tour with another long-standing band, Unwritten Law.
The month long escapade takes them all over the United States and Canada, including Amnesia Rockfest, in Montebello, Canada from June 19-20, where they will perform with numerous bands some of who you may have heard of; System of a Down, Linkin Park, The Offspring, Slayer, Snoop Dogg, Rancid, Deftones, Tenacious D, Bad Religion, Refused, Goldfinger, Less Than Jake, The Bouncing Souls, Unwritten Law, and the Voodoo Glow Skulls.
You hear all the time about other bands; The Rolling Stones, ZZ Top, Rush, and The Eagles who have performing decades upon decades and get accolades about being the best bands/performers of all-time. But, when you look at bands today, bands in the genre of punk that do not get the credit they deserve, you don’t have to look any further than TFP, who has been performing for over 30 years and still put out phenomenal music that you can listen to over and over again.
During those 30 years they have performed with some of the biggest punk bands the genre has ever seen, despite even some transition amongst its members. And while not being mainstream or Top 40 Ryan Seacrest material, these pioneers have loyal followers who know their tunes word for word and are loyal to the end.
For those not familiar with TFP, please give their facebook visit and Twitter page a visit. There you will get all the information you need and a sneak peak at the music that has been exciting fans for decades.
