A very special Wellness Wednesday today! Brady Leavold is our guest.
If you are unaware of who Brady is, please take a moment to listen. Brady was a promising young hockey player with hopes and dreams of playing in the NHL.
To be honest, I didn’t know anything about Brady, his career, or life.
I was scrolling through Instagram a few weeks ago. And by the grace of some higher power I read a post from Nipissing University. The post read;
“Join former elite hockey player Brady Leavold and Dr. Rob Graham on Thursday, November 10 at 7 p.m. at the NUSU Student Centre for the Courageous Conversations & the Mandate to be Great speaking series in support of the Laker’s Break the Ice on Mental Health event that will challenge your thinking and understanding about mental health and addiction.”
It’s a story of bullying, abuse (physical/mental) as a child, addiction, and suicide. That’s unimaginable pain that no one should have to go through. Brady has seen the absolute worst and has been able to reinvent himself in a way that is so inspiring it’s tough to put into words.
