The Portland Sea Dogs and FairPoint Communications have partnered up to provide the FairPoint “Community First” Table at Hadlock Field for the 2010 season.
At each of the 71 home games a new non-profit is allocated a space at the “Community First Table”.
The recession has hit the economy hard, so allowing each non-profit to promote themselves during home games can only help.
The economic recession has hit non-profits and local charities especially hard,” said Pam Joy, Vice President of Community Affairs for FairPoint. “We recognize the vital role non-profit organizations and local charities play in Maine and we are pleased to sponsor the FairPoint “Community First” Table that will allow up to 71 Maine charities an opportunity to promote their message to Sea Dog fans throughout the 2010 season.”
The Portland Sea Dogs exemplify how a minor league franchise should be run.
An affiliate of the Boston Red Sox, 157 players have reached the MLB, 7 times they have reached the playoffs, four times named Northern Division Champions and in 2006 reaching the pinnacle as Eastern League Champions.
Outstanding in the field, however exceptional off of it.

One of the most attended teams in all of minor league baseball, the Sea Dogs average roughly 6,200 fans per game giving them an annual total of 404,709.
