Welcome to the latest edition of Wellness Wednesday with Independent baseball player, Drake Ayala.
Drake is a versatile athlete who can fly, with a 6.2 60 time. He’s able to play a variety of positions, including SS and 2B, but he truly shines in the outfield, specifically as a center fielder. Drake’s ability to track down balls that others can’t get to, combined with his strong arm, make him a valuable asset to any team.
As a hitter, he has a nice inside-out swing that generates most of his hits to right field (25% of which went for extra bases). He works tirelessly and it shows in his impressive base-running skills; 20 for 21 on the bases paths. With great instincts on the bases and a willingness to get hit by a pitch (21 times HBP), he’s one of the most well-rounded players in the long-tenured Pecos League.
