On the final day of May, my last run for the #runningforacause initiative was completed. I am and will remain dedicated to raising awareness for mental health. As the month comes to a close, please remember to keep the conversation around mental health at the forefront of our minds.
During yesterday’s run, an oldie but a goodie came on. A hard-driving rap-rock song “Southtown” by POD. Released in 1999, this track still hits hard and has a unique ability to reel in its audience. Def takes you on a ride, lulling you into a calm state before delivering an explosive impact. Truly a great tune that’s fire some 24 years later.
I would also like to give a shoutout to my new friend, Sherron Cerny, the producer of the podcast “A Sober Girls Podcast.” We connected through our shared involvement in baseball, despite being in different parts of the world. Sherron was moved by my approach to sobriety on LinkedIn, highlighting the power of sharing personal stories on such a professional and public platform. Her words about me are incredibly humbling, and I am grateful for her support.
